Rhys Ifans backs Gwynedd community trying to save local pub - but time is running out
The community must raise over £100,000 by Friday in order to take over the pub
A community enterprise called Menter Ty'n Llan, which was set up in February in order to return this hub to the village, has so far raised 70% of its £400,000 target.
The ambitious project, which is set to cost £850,000 in total, will see the boarded up building returned to its roots as a village pub, whilst also serving as a shop, cafe, community centre and eatery in the future.
Though the community has already raised an incredible amount, it still has some way to go before it can fully achieve its goal of bringing the Ty'n Llan back to life.
By this Friday (June 11), Menter Ty'n Llan must raise another £120,000 in order to take over the pub.
And with such little time left, Rhys Ifans has now spoken in a video, urging people to help the community by investing in this "wonderful enterprise".
In the video, the actor, who grew up in Ruthin, said: "A good pub is the heart of the community, but it can't be if it's closed.
"Therefore, the people of Llandwrog intend to buy and reopen the old village pub, Ty'n Llan. But they need your support, and more so they need money, and now is your opportunity to help!
"Don't be shy, and don't hold back. You have until June 11 (Friday) to invest in this wonderful enterprise. Thank you very much!"
